Castel Asia-Oceania Cup : a successful first edition

The competition aims to promote the work of new generations of sommeliers from different countries in Asia Pacific: South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand and China.

Take a look back at the first edition of the Castel Asia-Oceania Cup, which was held in Hong Kong last November.

During two days of rigorous competition, candidates responded to several challenges: theoretical exams, blind tastings, decanting, food and wine pairings.

Congratulations to the Korean Hyisu Han, who won the first prize after a very close final against her compatriot Kibeom Song (3rd place) and the New Zealand candidate Dion Wai (2nd place). After the announcement of the winners, all the young sommeliers took part in an exceptional dinner, prepared by double star chef Fabrice Vulin from The Tasting Room City of Dreams Macau restaurant.

Organized in collaboration with the Hong Kong Sommelier Association, the competition aims to promote the work of new generations of sommeliers from different countries in Asia Pacific: South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand and China.
